What is Academic Support Summer School?
Academic Support Summer School is available for students who receive Tier 2 or 3 interventions in Math or Reading during the school year. The class will focus on a review of curricular standards from the school year to ensure mastery prior to the next grade level. Students who attend summer school will have the opportunity to continue to practice literacy and math skills in small groups with an experienced educator.
When is Academic Support Summer School happening for Summer 2023?
2023 Academic Support Summer School will run from June 12 through June 29, 2023, at Ivy Hall Elementary School. Students attend from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
The attendance days will follow the schedule included below. Please note that there will be no school on Monday, June 19. This summer program will attend Tuesday, June 20, through Friday, June 23, for that week only. All other weeks will run Monday through Thursday.
How do I sign my student up for Academic Support Summer School?
Invites are sent directly to families in late Spring for students who qualify for Academic Support Summer School. The number of students who are able to attend summer school is based on the number of staff we have available to teach in the summer.
What is the cost for Academic Support Summer School?
There is no cost to families for students to attend Academic Support Summer School.
Is transportation provided for students who attend Academic Support Summer School?
Yes, transportation is provided. Families have the option to decline using District 96 transportation.

About Summer 2023 Jump Start Kindergarten
What is Jump Start Kindergarten?
Jump Start Kindergarten is a program for incoming District 96 Kindergarten students to help support their transition into Kindergarten. Jump Start Kindergarten activities involve listening and following directions as students enjoy learning across many different subjects. Classes are taught by District 96 staff members.
When is Jump Start Kindergarten happening for Summer 2023?
2023 Jump Start Kindergarten will run from July 31 through August 10 at Willow Grove School (777 Checker Drive, Buffalo Grove, IL, 60089). Students will attend from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
How do I sign my student up for Academic Support Summer School?
A limited number of first-come, first-served openings are available. Families of fully registered incoming Kindergarten students will be emailed information letting them know the date and time that the registration form will open. The registration form will then be emailed directly to families of fully registered incoming Kindergarten students once it is open. Slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
What is the cost for Academic Support Summer School?
Tuition for Jump Start Kindergarten is $140 (cash or check only; check is preferred).
Is transportation provided for students who attend Academic Support Summer School?
No, transportation is not provided for Jump Start Kindergarten. Families are responsible for dropping off and picking up their child each day.
