Band & Orchestra BoosterS Organization
2017 IGSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest - Volunteers Needed!
District 96 is the host of the 2017 IGSMA (Illinois Grade School Music Association) Solo & Ensemble Contest. This contest brings in hundreds of band, orchestra, and choral students from middle and elementary schools across the Lake County area to perform a musical piece for a judge. Many of our own District 96 students will be performing at this event!
This day-long event is being held on Sat., Feb. 4, at Woodlawn Middle School, 6362 Gilmer Road, Long Grove. We will need over 100 volunteers to help on this day, as well as the day before to assist with event set-up. We need people to work shifts at various jobs such as room monitors, parking assistants, contest office, concession sales, and event set-up and take-down, as well as people to cook for a potluck luncheon for the contest judges. Your student does not need to participate in the contest in order to volunteer. Please click on the link below to be directed to our Sign-Up Genius page where you can sign up for the specific jobs and shift times you can work. You are welcome to sign up for more than one non-conflicting job/shift.

NEXT BOOSTER FUNDRAISER: THURS., JAN. 19, 2017
Chick-fil-A Kildeer • 20429 N. Rand Rd., Kildeer
Chick-fil-A will donate a percentage of sales from 11 AM - 7 PM on Thurs., Jan. 19, to the District 96 Band & Orchestra Boosters.
The District 96 Band & Orchestra Boosters is a 501(c)3 non-profit parent volunteer organization that supports the District 96 Band and Orchestra music program exclusively. The Boosters provide support for all concerts & parties; large & unusual instruments for the programs; year-end awards; scholarships to music camp each summer, and much more!
Through the overwhelming support of the Boosters from paid memberships and participation in our fundraisers, the Boosters were able to purchase 4 new xylophones to benefit the elementary school band programs at Country Meadows, Ivy Hall, Kildeer Countryside, and Prairie Elementary. The percussion students have been using them for lessons and rehearsals, as well as for their concerts. Thank you to all the band and orchestra families for your generosity! - October 2016
