Prairie Artists' Work Featured in 2018 YouthArt Calendar

District 96 is celebrating with Prairie students Lillian Wang and Maya Hulyalkar, whose artwork was chosen for interior pages in the 2018 YouthArt Calendar Competition sponsored by American Enterprise Bank and the Village of Buffalo Grove Arts Commission.

Judging categories included grades 1–12 and artists were invited to submit their work in a variety of media. All artwork received for entry will be showcased on Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. at a reception at American Enterprise Bank in Buffalo Grove. Artists whose work was selected for the calendar will be presented their awards.

Maya is in second grade at Prairie. She created a perspective on the seasons of the year.

Lillian is in fifth grade. Her work features cherry blossoms in spring in Washington, D.C.

Their art teacher at Prairie School is Mr. Christopher Morris.
